A new installation or a stone chip repair does not affect your statutory warranty claims. These remain valid vis-à-vis your car dealer. The same applies to the vehicle warranty that the manufacturer gave you when you bought a new car.
Restrictive warranty conditions are not permitted. Within the guarantee period or statutory warranty period, manufacturing defects must be repaired at the manufacturer's expense. This also applies if a windscreen replacement or repair was previously carried out at Carglass®. Warranty services must not depend on maintenance by an authorised workshop. This is a point made by the EU Commission.
Of course, the vehicle manufacturer is not responsible if a defect is not caused by production faults but by normal wear and tear or third party faults.
